The Describe It Double Dice Add-On Deck narrows describing to four essential attributes, so students practise complete descriptions without being overwhelmed by too many variables. A roll of the double dice decides which attribute to target. With 54 cards and 216 prompts, it suits quick warm-ups, group play, and IEP data collection.

The four attributes:

  • Category: the group the item belongs to
  • Function: what the item does
  • Appearance and components: what it looks like and its parts
  • Location: where the item is typically found

How to play:

  1. Place nine cards face down on the table.
  2. The student rolls the double dice.
  3. The outer die reveals a shape, so flip over the card with the matching shape.
  4. The inner die reveals a number, so read the corresponding prompt.
  5. The student responds, then play moves to the next student.
