Go for the Dough® Board Game is a vocabulary and word-meaning board game targeting six language skill areas, designed for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), special educators, teachers, and parents with students in grades prekindergarten and up and children ages 3 and up.
Four hundred and eighty tear-proof Super Dough Dollars targeting six vocabulary skill areas give Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and educators a fast-paced, highly motivating board game that improves word knowledge, semantic flexibility, and phonemic awareness simultaneously.
Go for the Dough® has players drive their cars around a 16" x 16" pizza delivery board, collecting Super Dough Dollars by answering vocabulary challenges in six categories: synonyms, rhyming words, opposites, categories, multiple meanings, and definitions. With 80 dollar cards per category, clinicians and teachers can choose one category for the entire session or mix and match across categories. The tear-proof currency-style cards provide a motivating, game-like reinforcement format that students consistently respond to across a wide age and ability range. Developed by Margaret Froitzheim and Clint Johnson.
Who is this vocabulary board game helpful for?
Go for the Dough® Board Game is designed to target vocabulary, word meanings, synonyms, rhyming, categorisation, multiple meanings, and definitions in students in grades prekindergarten and up and children ages 3 and up. Ideal for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), special education teachers, classroom teachers, and parents supporting therapy goals at home in individual sessions, small groups, or classroom settings.
Why Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), teachers, and parents love this game:
The ability to choose one vocabulary category for the entire game or mix and match across all six makes Go for the Dough® practical for homogeneous and mixed-ability groups alike. Students who are resistant to structured vocabulary drills consistently engage with the pizza delivery theme and the currency-based reinforcement, and the six built-in skill areas mean the game supports a wide range of IEP and curriculum goals without requiring separate materials. Clinicians also use the game board with other card sets such as articulation drill cards to make repetitive practice less tedious.
Go for the Dough® Board Game includes:
- Colourful, sturdy 16" x 16" game board
- 480 tear-proof Super Dough Dollars (80 per category: synonyms, rhyming, opposites, categories, multiple meanings, and definitions)
- Player cars and game pieces
- Game instructions
Caution: Choking hazard, contains small parts. Not intended for children under the age of three. Super Dough Dollars are tear-proof but will melt if laminated.
