MagneTalk Positions is a magnetic game targeting twelve positional and spatial concepts, designed for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers with students in grades prekindergarten and up and children ages 3 to 9.
A 14" x 18" magnetic game board featuring Digger Dog, Casey Cat, and Barry Bear gives Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers a character-driven, hands-on way to build positional concept and basic concept vocabulary.
MagneTalk Positions presents twelve positional concepts, ten of which are taught as opposite pairs (in/out, over/under, and more). Students match dog and cat tiles to the board to show each position (dog "on" the chair, cat "on" the stool), while Barry Bear illustrates the same concepts directly on the board as a teaching reference. Who is this positions game helpful for?
MagneTalk Positions is designed to target positional and spatial concept vocabulary, basic concept development, and fine motor skills in students in grades prekindergarten and up and children ages 3 to 9. Ideal for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers in individual therapy sessions or small group basic concept instruction.
Why Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers love this game:
The on-board character illustrations (Barry Bear) give students an always-available visual reference for each concept, reducing reliance on the clinician to demonstrate every position verbally. Pairing positions as opposites reinforces contrastive understanding, which research shows supports more durable concept learning than teaching positions in isolation. By Sharon G. Webber, M.S.
