Pronoun Party® Games is a grammar board game targeting 14 pronoun combinations at word and sentence levels, designed for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers with students in grades kindergarten through grade 5 and children ages 4 to 11.
Eight themed game boards and 192 illustrated party cards targeting 14 pronoun combinations give Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers a structured, mastery-based game for teaching pronouns systematically — one combination at a time.
Pronoun Party® Games takes a targeted, systematic approach to pronoun instruction: each of the eight party-themed game boards (pizza, skating, pool, birthday, zoo, beach, classroom, and costume) focuses on a limited set of pronoun combinations, allowing students to build mastery before progressing to the next set. Pronoun combinations targeted include I/you, me/you, my/your, mine/yours, myself/yourself, we/you, us/you, our/your, ours/yours, ourselves/yourselves, he/she/it/they, him/her/it/them, his/hers/its/theirs, and himself/herself/itself/themselves. Players move around their chosen game board while practising pronoun use in phrase and sentence contexts. Developed by Monica Gustafson, Molly DeShong, and Thomas Webber.
Who is this pronoun game helpful for?
Pronoun Party® Games is designed to target pronoun comprehension and production in students in grades kindergarten through grade 5 and children ages 4 to 11. Ideal for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers in individual therapy sessions, small group instruction, or classroom grammar instruction settings.
Why Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers love this game:
The systematic, one-combination-at-a-time structure directly addresses the sequenced teaching approach that pronoun acquisition research supports, and the variety of party themes provides enough novelty across sessions to maintain student motivation through the repetitive practice that mastery requires. The flexible design allows students in the same group to practise different pronoun sets on different boards simultaneously, making it practical for mixed-goal group therapy sessions.
Pronoun Party® Games includes:
- 8 full-colour, laminated game boards (11" x 17") — 8 party themes
- 192 illustrated party cards targeting 14 pronoun combinations
