Syllable Practice Fun Deck

Syllable Practice Fun Deck is a photo-based fun deck targeting syllable awareness and the phonological process of syllable deletion, designed for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) with students in grades pre-kindergarten through grade 3 and children ages 3 to 9.

Sixty-six full-colour photo cards presenting 60 pairs of two-to-four-syllable words in both syllabicated and non-syllabicated formats give Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) a clear, photo-based tool for decreasing syllable deletion and building early phonological awareness.

Syllable Practice Fun Deck uses real photographs presented in two formats on opposite sides of each card: Side A shows the word divided into syllables (syllabicated), while Side B shows the same word presented as a whole (non-syllabicated). Students practise producing each word in both formats, working to decrease the phonological process of syllable deletion, improve overall speech intelligibility, and build phonological awareness and early literacy skills.
