Webber Basic Concepts MagneFoam Magnets are sets of easy-to-hold, three-dimensional foam magnets targeting basic concept vocabulary in opposite and related word pairs, designed for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers with students in grades prekindergarten through grade 3 and children ages 3 to 9.

One hundred and fifty-eight three-dimensional foam magnets (2" diameter) targeting 54 basic concepts in opposite and related word pairs give Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers a tactile, hands-on way to teach colours, sizes, descriptive words, and location words on any magnetic-receptive surface.

Webber Basic Concepts MagneFoam Magnets target the basic concepts found in both the Webber Basic Concepts Instructional Activity Program and the Wiig Assessment of Basic Concepts (WABC). Concepts are presented in opposite or related word pairs such as big/little, hot/cold, up/down, short/tall, slow/fast, and half/whole. Each set includes a FOIL magnet, an unrelated concept magnet that can be added to increase task difficulty by requiring students to identify and reject a non-matching option. Numbered magnets correspond directly to concept board numbers in the Webber Basic Concepts Program for easy pairing. Compatible with any magnetic-receptive surface, including the MagneTalk Barrier Game Stand.

Two levels are available individually or together as a bundle:

  • Level 1 targets 54 basic concepts from Level 1 of the Webber Basic Concepts Program and WABC.
  • Level 2 targets 54 different concepts from Level 2 of the Webber Basic Concepts Program and WABC.
  • Bundle includes both Level 1 and Level 2 for complete coverage of all 108 concepts across both levels.

Who are these basic concept magnets helpful for?

Webber Basic Concepts MagneFoam Magnets are designed to target basic concept vocabulary including colours, sizes, descriptive words, and location words in students in grades prekindergarten through grade 3 and children ages 3 to 9. Ideal for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers in individual therapy sessions or small group basic concept instruction.

Why Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers love these magnets:

The three-dimensional foam format gives young students a tactile experience of each concept that flat picture cards cannot provide: a magnet labelled "big" is physically larger than one labelled "small," reinforcing the concept through touch and size rather than through visual representation alone. The FOIL magnet allows clinicians to increase task difficulty by adding a non-matching choice to any activity, providing built-in scaffolding within a single set without requiring additional materials.

Webber Basic Concepts MagneFoam Magnets include:

  • 158 foam magnets (2" diameter) per level targeting 54 basic concepts in opposite and related word pairs
  • FOIL magnet (unrelated concept) for increasing task difficulty
  • Numbered magnets corresponding to Webber Basic Concepts Program concept board numbers
  • Game ideas
  • Sturdy storage box

Caution: Choking hazard, contains small parts. Not intended for children under the age of three.
