Teach non-verbal students to communicate using Boardmaker Picture Communication Symbols with these amusing, motivating games!

Give children the gift of expressive communication through play. The Webber® Functional Communication Game offers five game formats that cover daily topics and allow students with varying motor and verbal skills to participate in games they often would not be able to participate in due to their fine motor or communication abilities. These formats include:

  1. Functional World of Communication Game
  2. Spinning with Communication
  3. Communication Bingo
  4. Lotto
  5. Tic-Tac-Toe

Students place markers on bingo, lotto, and tic-tac-toe boards, move game pieces around the game board, and hit a flashing spinner to earn tokens when answering questions. Activities and boards allow the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to plan a therapy session without spending hours making boards and provide 1,611 expressive and receptive questions and commands for student practice.

11 Topic Areas

The Webber® Functional Communication Games focuses on eleven topic areas including:

  1. Places
  2. Playground/park
  3. Hygiene
  4. Senses
  5. Feelings
  6. Around town—transportation and community helpers
  7. Objects
  8. Small group—weather/seasons and days of the week
  9. Food/drink
  10. School
  11. Social

Each topic area includes two different communication boards with 18 receptive cards and 18 expressive cards that target matching, identification, sentence completion, and responding to questions. In addition to teaching non-verbal students to use augmentative communication, the games are great for working with preschoolers with language delays, children with autism, or who are deaf or hard of hearing, and children who respond well to visual cues.
