Webber® Photo Cards (What Doesn't Belong?) is a categorisation photo card set targeting visual discrimination and category knowledge, designed for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers for all ages and grades.

Fifty-two full-colour real-photo cards presenting groups of items where one does not belong give Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers a clear, visually engaging tool for building categorisation, reasoning, and verbal explanation skills.

Webber® Photo Cards (What Doesn't Belong?) presents each card with a group of items, one of which belongs to a different category than the others. Students identify the item that does not belong and explain their reasoning — targeting not only category knowledge but also the expressive language skills needed to justify and verbalise a decision. The real-photo format uses concrete imagery that makes the categorisation task accessible across a wide range of language levels. Content cards include game ideas in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Chinese. Cards are stored in a sturdy metal tin. By Sharon G. Webber, M.S.

Who are these categorisation cards helpful for?

Webber® Photo Cards (What Doesn't Belong?) is designed to target categorisation, visual discrimination, receptive vocabulary, critical thinking, and verbal reasoning and explanation skills for all ages and grades. Ideal for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers in individual therapy sessions, small group instruction, or classroom settings.

Why Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers love these cards:

Asking students not only to identify the odd item but also to explain why it doesn't belong builds the verbal reasoning and metalinguistic skills that transfer directly to academic language tasks such as classification, compare-and-contrast, and persuasive writing. The real-photo format ensures that category boundaries are clear and unambiguous, avoiding the interpretive confusion that illustrated cards can sometimes produce. By Sharon G. Webber, M.S.
