What Is the Main Idea? Super Fun Deck® with Secret Decoder is a self-checking comprehension fun deck targeting main idea identification in short stories, designed for use by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers with students in grades 3 through grade 8 and children ages 8 to 14.

One hundred and twenty story cards across two levels of difficulty give Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and teachers a structured, self-checking resource for building the main idea skills students need for academic reading success.

What Is the Main Idea? Super Fun Deck® presents 120 short narrative story cards, each followed by three possible main idea choices. Students read or listen to the story, select the choice that best represents the main idea, and use the included Super Duper Secret Decoder to independently verify their answer. Blue Level One cards (numbers 1 through 60) feature stories 3 to 4 sentences long. Red Level Two cards (numbers 61 through 120) feature stories 5 to 7 sentences long with increased complexity.
