Teaching Manual 1 is divided into 3 distinct sections:

Easy-for-Me™ Reading Teaching Manual 2

Section 1

Lays a foundation for children to begin improving their learning skills. With a minimal set of tools, students comprehend the why and how of reading before exploring more detailed contexts. This approach helps effectively close learning gaps, focusing on foundational knowledge, connecting new element to previous concepts, and helps children make visual and body connections to their reading memory.

By Lesson 20, children master 8 sounds and 4 words, which means they are ready to read the first two books in Set A Children's Readers.

By Lesson 30, students will have learned 8 sounds and 23 sight words, which means they will be able to read a total of 7 books from Set A Children's Readers.

Section 2

Section 2 of Teaching Manual 1 builds on children's reading skills by introducing new sounds, blending them, exploring writing, crafting words, acquiring related sight words, and reading books. As children progress to Section 2, they already comprehend the essence of reading, making the addition of new tools seamless, and their learning picks up pace.

Section 3

Section 3 of marks the culmination of the reading journey. It covers the remaining sounds, incorporates the final 5 SnapWords® from List A, and culminates with the reading of the last 7 books from Easy-for-Me™ Children’s Readers Set A, completing the process of learning to read.

Pacing

The Easy-for-Me™ Teaching Manual 2 provides a total of 180 lessons. While ideally, one lesson could be taught per day, it's important to be flexible and responsive to each child's unique learning pace. Some children may understand a lesson easily, while others might require additional time and practice. Observing each child's progress and understanding is important to tailoring the pace of the lessons.

What matters most is ensuring comprehension of each skill. During assessments, it's crucial to identify any areas of difficulty and take the time to reteach them. Skipping over misunderstood concepts can lead to accumulation of gaps in a child's knowledge over time. It is ideal to proceed at a slower pace to make sure each child fully understands the concepts before moving on.

Kinesthetic Connections

There are a variety of kinesthetic activities included in the lessons in Teaching Manual 2. These activities are not only beneficial for kinesthetic learners but also for tactile and visual learners.

By incorporating visual elements, storytelling, and physical movement into the lessons, children enjoy a dynamic learning experience and retain the material better.
